Characteristics

Chorological type: European-Caucasian. Distribution in Italy: Most continental regions. Habitat: Humid forests and meadows, up to 1200 m.

Generic name (Galanthus): From gala (milk) and anthos (flower). Specific name (nivalis): Refers to snow.
