Interactive map
A considerable variety of plants are preserved and propagated in the Garden: officinal, rupicolous, glareicolous, marsh, nemoral and grassland. Many of these are rare and endangered. Thanks to its precious floristic heritage preserved in the natural habitats and in the thematic flower beds, the Garden emerges as one of the most important centers of biodiversity for the Molise region. To date, 513 species of vascular plants belonging to 263 genera of 72 different families have been registered.
Among the species worthy of protection, the Garden includes Adonis distorta Ten., Leontopodium nivale (Ten.) É. Huet ex Hand.-Mazz., Goniolimon italicum Tammaro, Frizzi & Pignatti, and many others that make up 8.3% of the flora with endemic range.
Ogni pianta è corredata da un cartellino che la cataloga scientificamente e, allo stesso tempo, consente ai meno esperti di conoscerla e classificarla nel mondo vegetale.
The interactive map represents the “heart” of the Garden, where the exhibition areas are concentrated. The Valerio Giacomini path will lead you to the area left to natural evolution and to the islands of senescence.
